Each book gets better and better!
By Step Into Fiction
This is one of those series where it just gets better and better as the books go on. Shutdown was easily my favorite of the trilogy. It was heartbreaking, action-packed, so suspenseful that I found myself on the edge of my seat many times and unpredictable. (Parts were predictable but then she'd do something right after that you did not see coming).
Adrien, poor lovely Adrien. At the end of Override, after having part of his brain removed by the evil and wicked Chancellor, he lost all of his emotions. While he still had his memories of he and Zoe together he had no emotional attachment to them or worse, to her. We find out that Adrien is gone; at least the Adrien we've grown to love. We're left here with Adrien 2.0 which might appear rather depressing but it's actually amazing. Not only do we get to fall in love with Adrien all over again but so does Zoe. What person can say they're lucky enough to fall in love with the same person not once, but twice? He's not fully the same Adrien but there are pieces of the old Adrien still left in the new Adrien.
All you Max haters can go bugger off. I've liked Max since the beginning and even with all the bad things he's done throughout this series, I've always stood by him. I've been disappointed in him, sure, but he's had the best intentions. Sometimes people just don't use their head when they have one thing set in their minds. That one thing? Zoe. He wanted her and used what ever means to try and get her. What some people don't realize is if your intended doesn't want to be wanted by you, no matter what you do (good or bad) you'll never accomplish your goal. That's when you have cut your losses and move on. He is a father now with the mother of his child completely and utterly already in love with him. Focus on that but of course, this is Max we're talking about so it's not going to happen. All I ask is after reading this book, Max haters, are you still a hater? If you are . . . just back up and walk away. I can't deal with you right now . . .
That being said, this is a series that has just gotten better and better as it's gone along. While I enjoyed Glitch, I wasn't in love with it. Override changed my opinion on that, as I became in love with it. After reading Shutdown, I became depressed because I knew it was over. There was no more of this world, these characters - nothing. Done. That makes me sad but it was a fantastic conclusion to a great trilogy. It's one I'm definitely glad I stuck with. Though there were many times I wanted to put the book down and sigh, as there were many aspects that depressed me, there were other times I wanted to put my book down to run around, cheering. If a series can bring out that much emotion in a reader, the author is doing their job wonderfully.
Sci-Fi fans; Dystopia fans; Fantasy fans - read this. The books are quick reads so if you're looking at your huge TBR pile and laughing like yeah right, like I can fit three more books on there they won't take you long and you'll be glad you put a few days aside to just devour them. Plus, if you haven't started this series, now you don't have to wait months and months and months between the releases. I'm actually jealous of you. You finish one then you just pick up the next one and then the next.

One of the best endings for a series EVER!
By Shannon @ Twilight Sleep
WOW. What an amazing ending to a fascinating series.
The beginning of this book was SO HARD on me. Anastasiu threw me for a loop in Override when I found out about Adrien. Pause here for a moment and imagine me like Rocky, arms and legs spread wide, face to the sky, yelling:
AAAAAADDDRRRRIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's what it was like. So I went into book 3 already hesitant and skeptical - there was no way she was gonna screw this up and not let Adrien and Zoel be together (OR ELSE.) but I had no idea how she was going to bring him back from that.
I really shouldn't have worried.
This whole book is one action-packed adventure. I absolutely LOVE that there was never a dull moment; I never got bored or felt like things were dragging on as I so often have in other books. We got to see Zoe do so much growing and evolving in this series and book 3 is kind of the max out point for her. I felt very connected to her as she struggled through this story; there were times when she felt like maybe it would be best to just go to sleep and never wake up were so heart-wrenching. But then watching her pull it together, keep it together, and power through like a Grade A Badass inspired me.
Shutdown picks up where Override left off...which is, in essence, where everything seems to have gone to complete and utter cow patty. Adrien is completely destroyed, Zoe and his mom are even more at odds, the Chancellor is wrecking shop all over the place, and Zoe is carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders as she tries to be not only the leader Taylor has appointed her to be, but the salvation that Adrien has seen her (and everyone needs her) to be. Things are bad and getting worse and finally Zoe accepts what she's known all along: it's time to go full-tilt-boogie on the Chancellor or bust.
Fueled by her love for the person Adrien has become, her sadness and anger at the death of so many people, and her desire for salvation, Zoe takes on the Chancellor in what is the ultimate showdown.
I was afraid of how the story would end - it seemed like there was no way to wrap this up without being anticlimactic, but Anastasiu totally nailed it. Amazing world building and character development, lots of geek tech, and even some steamy romance - this book has it all. Heather Anastasiu does not take the easy way out. Everything doesn't magically become pretty and fixed and perfectly tied up with string. Things are ugly and people change into completely different personalities and plans fail left and right. But in the end you're left with a feeling of completeness.
Bittersweet, this review is. I'll miss these characters for sure - Adrien and Zoe and Xona and Ginni and Cole, the whole lot. But I'm so happy that Glitch goes out with a bang.
*NOTE: I was provided a free copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. My original review was part of the blog tour leading up to the publication date and included a playlist and giveaway. You can find it in the archives at Twilight Sleep - [...]

amazing
By heather patrick
I have got the first two together and they were amazing. I loved every moment of Zoel's life with being a glitcher. and this book was no different. I got this book on 7/6/13 and finished it the same day! I couldn't put it down! it was amazing to see how much a leader she became and how adiren helped her see herself, and how zoel helped him. the ending was perfect, a perfect wrap up of everything. I won't say what is the ending. but it was worth all the pain she goes through. sad that the book's are at an end.
