About the Author
Deceased. MARY BLAIR (1911-1978) illustrated several Golden Books including I Can Fly. For nearly four decades, she was involved with many important Disney projects. She created the concept sketches for Cinderella, Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland. She also designed the 1964-65 New York World's Fair exhibit "It's a Small World." To recognize her creative contributions, the Disney Company named Mary Blair a Disney Legend in 1991.

A real find.. again...

I purchased the original copy of this book at Woolworths in 1978... I had kept it for years and even though the cover was slightly ripped the memories would return and my eyes swelled with tears each time I would take it out of the cabinet and look at it. You see my "baby" is now a grown man but he loved when someone read this book to him. It simply identifies familiar items in a child's home and the illustrations and language are just perfect. My son, ironically asked me several months ago if I still had this book. I gave it to him but promised that I would try and locate a newer copy for him. Of course I did at where else? Amazon.com... I bought TWO copies; one for him and the other for my daughter who is expecting our first grandchild very soon.. A wonderful book that every young child and household should possess...

surpisingly loved

I recently pulled this book out of storage and set it in one of my children's book baskets. The book was given to my by my grandparents when I was five years old. Reading it now, it seemed very simple and old-fashioned, and I honestly didn't think my children (3.5 and almost-2) would be at all interested in it. I was very surprised that both of my children asked to read it several times in a row! There's something about this book that they love!
I do want to clarify that I haven't bought a new copy of the book yet. I assume that this one is the same as mine from nearly 30 years ago.

FROM MAMA TO GREAT GRANDMAMA

Baby's House is a delightful book to read your baby.
My children loved it when very young. It was fun to read aloud and interact
with the baby and things in her house. It was the special book for the youngest.
When my grand children came along I bought a new Baby's House. This book was still a fun read.
Its a book you can talk about with your child, and explore a home.
Now I am a great grandma. My newest little one will receive Baby's House for her second birthday.
I look forward to reading her just as I did my own children. This little girl clamors for a book
in bed even though the lights are out and she sits and reads her book before going to sleep.
Just proves what reading to children can do.
